Amaterasu

Done for a mentorship with an indie gaming company, the task was to make an interpretation of a god or goddess from any mythology. The goddess in question is Amaterasu from Japanese mythology. Shown here, is the process taken from the original sketches, to the color studies, to eventually the final product, as well as a prop sheet and turnaround of the character. Using inspiration from historical Japanese clothing as well as video games such as Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact, the design was created as a combination of ancient and modern styles of clothing.
